about this piece:
"Three-Footed Bowl," #00-129
8.5 cm x 20. 5 cm x 19.5 cm
Wood-fired
This grolleg porcelain bowl was fired upside-down for 15 days
with Cottonwood. The flames and ash coursing under the bowl created
orange comet-flashes, with clusters of yellow crystals mimicking
the comet flow. One large green drip of natural ash glaze "hangs"
from the rim. The underside of the bowl (the top during firing)
reveals browns, caramels, blues, blue-grays, aquamarines, whites,
yellows, pinks - all in a matrix of interlocking crystals.
