about this piece:
"Vase/Hanaire," #00-120
23 cm x 14 cm x 11 cm
Wood-fired
This vase was fired upright for 15 days with Cottonwood. This
is a clay body that I formulated and have been working with for
4 years. It dramatically documents the varying thicknesses of
natural ash accumulation by moving from reflective, glassy surfaces
to matt crystalline-textured flows. Ash that collected on the
interior rim during the firing, flowed in multiple rivulets, almost
all the way to the bottom interior of the piece.
