WALL VASE, #5588: sold

This wall vase measures 5.5 inches tall.

Wall vases are often part of a traditional Japanese household. With spare accessories and few pieces of furniture on which to sit vases, a traditional post and beam-constructed house would have wall vases hanging on a post or on the window framing. Invariably, whatever was blooming outside the house was "blooming" inside the house within the wall vases.

My old friend, Mr. Matsuyama, rather chastised me one day.... reminding me that "the vases are for the flowers....not the other way around." Translated: keep the vases rather subdued so that the flowers can be the focus. While I remember his words, I'm sure that my wall vases would be al little too "loud" for his taste... just right for my Western sensibility.

We keep several wall vases in use most all the time in our house. They take very little space and bring a sense of freshness to the room at any time of year.....and can be filled in seasonally appropriate ways.

The price includes, packing, shipping and insurance to continental US destinations. Gift a friend, or treat yourself.
