Triple-glazed tea bowl, #5474: SOLD $95

This bowl measures 4" tall.

Part of a series from a nearly-two-year glaze-test-series, I'm finally beginning to be quite happy with the results.

Made with a view toward the requirements of a formal tea bowl, it is not limited only to tea ceremony.....but is (and always will be) limited by the extent of my cultural ambidexterity, my Western predilections, and my own life story.

We don't need to be Japanese to use, enjoy or emulate fine tea bowls. But any tea bowl I have ever made or will ever make, will carry my cultural blind spots, my multicultural insights and and my current state of technical facility....not to mention my intuition, passion, and playfulness.

I hope you enjoy the multiple images.

Price includes packing, shipping, and insurance to any continental US postal address.

And I'm always happy to ship my works to others as gifts, on your behalf. Just let me know where you'd like it shipped.

Firing Process: Glaze-fired
Type of Work: tea bowls (chawan)
