This wall vase measures 5.25 inches tall. Please see all photos: some of these glazed and soda-fired vases have lovely and remarkably different "front" and "back" sides.

These wall vases are glazed with the results of a 200-glaze testing series I worked out at my studio this spring. Each of them uses three of those glazes. I'm delighted with the added color these have brought to my studio....hope they'll do the same for your home/setting.

In traditional Japanese homes, there are few pieces of furniture on which to sit a vase. One solution was to make wall vases and hang them on the posts (of the post-and-beam constructed homes) or on the window frames. An entire industry has grown up in Japan around the making of the special hangers that allow one to hang the wall vase on a simple nail. I import these hangers from Japan for these wall vases
