This wood-fired vase measures 10.5 inches tall. It was fired in the most recent 100+-hour Notre Dame University wood-fire.

Here's a piece that was fired right in the firebox. You can see the horizon line where the coals partially covered it during the firing. These pieces are at the highest risk in wood firings. Subject to being broken by the wood while stoking....or being knocked over or otherwise pushed into other pieces. Those that survive the firing require more than an hour of diligent cleaning...to reveal the blacks and subtle purples and blues and greens and sages, and caramel colors that develop under the coals. But the extra investment is worth it, I think.

This will always be lovely.....all.by.itself! But put your favorite flowers in it and : whew!

Be sure to see all the images...especially the detail image.

Remember, the price includes packing, shipping and insurance to continental US addresses.
